Freeing the Witch
There’s something safer in the dreams Where reality is not what it seems Where the walls break and fly and the madness isn’t shy The part of me that remembers how to speak In a heart murmur which is not weak And the chains on me fall soundless to the ground And I howl The makeup smears across our faces We resign all our given places Why did you tell me who to be As though you feared if I was free And the words lay heavy on my heart from the start Its not as though I want the lock Caged bird free is quite a shock Just belonging for this lifetime might be fun Be the one And so I run Everytime Into the wind
