This sense of cocooning connects with the ancestors of the barrows, within the deep places of the Earth. Honouring their bones as physical touchstones to the past.
 
The spirit powders are designed to honour the energies and memories of our ancestors, and consider what they were feeling at this point in the year. With the autumn harvests largely in, our ancestors would be preparing for winter, to rest and nourish themselves, and to plan ahead to make sure they had enough to get through the fallow times.
