You many a plum, and many a peare
For more or lesse fruits they will bring,
As you do give them wassailing." - Old English Rhyme

The spell energy behind Wassail this way! is protective and uplifting, perfect for the difficult moments throughout the winter season.
Blood orange is one of my personal favourites - it invigorates the spirit & emotions from feeling particularly low.
Protective spells are always beneficial but this one wards against seasonal blues too.
One legend about how wassailing was created states that a beautiful Saxon maiden named Rowena presented Prince Vortigan with a bowl of wine, while toasting the words "Waes hael" (good health.) Over the centuries many traditions have sprung up around the tradition of Wassailing but most include a traditional spiced apple wine or cider, on which the anointing oil is based, and makes an appearance in this candle too!
In addition this spell candle works wonderfully to bring peace to any unsettled energy within the ancestral line.I always think December is a key time to give offerings to the beloved dead, as it was a scary time of scarcity for our ancestors... and I wonder if ancestral wounds of scarcity feed into our current shadows of splurging and overspending in the Winter months.
Could giving more offerings to the beloved dead in December ease this for us? I think that it definitely can! This beautiful candle can be used for just that.
